The easy way to Dauin, is to fly from Manila to Dumaguete. The other way is bit more difficult. When you fly into Cebu, I recommend to book a transport in advance. It’s often offered by the Resorts, you have booked. They pick you up from Cebu-Airport, drive you down to Liloan, there you take the Ferry to Sibulan, North of Dumaguete. There another car awaits you and take you on a 20 Minute Ride to Dauin.
Like in any place, finally there, compensates the long travel…;)
The beach is a little darker here, because of the old Volcanos nearby.
Resort and diving
I stayed in El Dorado Beach Resort. They have a diveshop: DiveSociety. I really loved to stay there and diving was just incredible. Because of the dark sand, the dives from the shore are more like Muck-Dives. For me, it was like a small Lembeh Strait. Dream for Underwaterphotographers.
They are also doing trips to Apo Island, Siquior and Oslob (Whalesharks) for Bluewater-Lovers.

Food
There’s not pretty much around, besides the other Resort-Restaurants. The Restaurant of the El Dorado is awesome. Big Menu to choose from, and changing Specials of the day.
Nightlife
Nope….well at least there are always a couple of interesting people at the Poolbar. On saturdays and wednesdays, the boss offers a free transit to his small Club “Why not?” in Dumaguete. There you find some more places to spend an evening. The Ride with a Tricycle is around 300 PHP one-way. Depends on your negotiating-skills.
What else to do?
Dumaguete has got a couple of small shopping possibilities. Trips to the Volcano or Hot Springs are a good thing to spend a day. And…there is always a waterfall somewhere…;)
